Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield is an American professional football player born in Austin, Texas on April 14, 1995. He is currently a quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. Mayfield had a love for football from a young age and would attend football games throughout his childhood. While in high school he was the starting quarterback of his high school team the Cavaliers at Lake Travis High School and finished his high school career with 6,255 passing yards, 67 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. He started his college football career playing for the Texas Tech Red Raiders as a walk on player but transferred to Oklahoma after having scholarship issues in his freshman year. He played with The University of Oklahoma from 2014 to 2017. In 2018 he was selected by the Cleveland Browns first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie contract worth $32 million in guaranteed salary. He made his professional debut in the NFL on August 9, 2018 in the first preseason game against the New York Giants. In his rookie season he finished with 3,725 passing yards passing Russell Wilson and Peyton Manning for most touchdowns thrown in a rookie season with 27.
